Double
consciousness Based
from what I read in the passage. One idea I found that was very significant was
about how a Negro tried to become a part of this world without being hated on.
I believe this was a significant idea because it’s talking about a persons will
to become part of a way of living. He wishes that he can become a part of America
without others forgetting where they are from. He did not want to turn America into
an African way of living because America had too much to teach to the rest of
the world and Africa. He talks about not
wanting to become part of the American way as soon as possible as he knew that
he as a Negro had a message for the world. He basically wanted to become an
American Negro without people judging him or making fun of him and at the same
time have the same opportunities as the other Americans. In my opinion this Negro
was very brave and determined to become an American Negro. I believe this is as important
now as it was back then because there are so many people in this world trying
to be a part of something but are too afraid of what others may say. But this does
not stop them from trying to accomplish what they set out to be.
